When you’re expecting a bundle of joy to join your family or you heard the good news of a friend or a relation, how awesome it would be to gift them something made with your own hands. I’m bringing you a shoe pattern and step by step guide on how to crochet it. You can choose the best colors, best materials you feel fit and put in just enough love in the process so the tiny feet that wear these will feel super comfortable.
You might feel this pattern is beyond your grasp if you are a beginner, but I bet if you’re passionate and willing to put in the effort, it’s within your reach. I made sure this tutorial is beginner friendly so even a fresh crocheter can try this out. Just don’t be disheartened if you fail in your first try. Try harder the next time.
First of all let’s take a look at the tools, materials and the stitchers we will be using in this tutorial
- Yarn in two colors – I used 100% Acrylic 3 ply in beige and coral colors
- Crochet hook – I used a 4.0mm size hook
- Scissor
- Tapestry/Darning needle
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet (US)
- hdc – half double crochet (US)
- dc – double crochet (US)
- ss -slip stitch(slip stitch/join) – This pattern should be worked in rounds. At the end of each round you should join it to the very first stitch by using a slip stitch. This does not count as a stitch.
Apart from these, I have included how you can use decreasing techniques in the video tutorial attached.
The Sole
chain 11. start in 3rd chain from the hook
- round – work 3 hdc in 3rd chain from the hook. 2 hdcs in each of the next 2 chains. hdc in next 5 chains. 5 hdcs in last chain.
now you’ll have to work along in opposite side of the chain
hdc in next 5 chains, 2 hdc in each of the next 2 chains, 1 hdc in last chain.
join to the very 1st stitch you worked with a ss to form the round.
(total stitch count – 27) - round – ch 1, work 2 hdc into the same stitch.

The Upper Part
- round – This round is made with crocheting around each stitch of last round of the sole, start from center of the heel. Make sure you work in back loops only. (see the video) Take the color 2 and make a slip knot. Go trough the the back loop of teh starting stitch and pull the slip knot with your hook. Ch 1, work sc in same stitch,

This is the basic shape of the shoe, you’ll be able to create various designs and styles using this as a base. Just change the colors, add some flowers and bows and beads to style it and you’ll have a beautiful pair of booties to dress those adorable baby feet.
